BULGOGI

CHEESESTEAK

SANDWICH.

I drool as I think about it.

Just about a year ago, during last year’s Red Bull Soapbox Race in Downtown LA (this year’s race was just this past weekend), J and I stumbled upon the Sandwich Shop.  We checked out the menu and decided to try the Bulgogoi Cheesesteak Sandwich (Gogi Hoagie) and the Pork Banh Mi.  Although they were both good, we fell in love with the Bulgogi Cheesesteak Sandwich.  It is SO good!  A genius creation to put Korean bulgogi – marinated sliced rib-eye – with some provolone cheese, a touch of mayo, fresh jalapeno, and sesame seeds into a sandwich!  Although the menu has this sandwich on a toasted baguette, the first time we went, they ran out of baguettes and we had our first Bulgogi Cheesesteak on ciabatta bread.  We were so glad that that happened because, since then, we have tried the sandwich on a baguette and we definitely prefer Sandwich Shop’s soft ciabatta bread with this sandwich.

The Bulgogi Cheesesteak sandwich is pictured here on ciabatta bread along with these cute little pickles that go so well with this sandwich (I need more than 3!).  We go pretty often throughout the year, but we went this past weekend after the Red Bull Soapbox Race to celebrate the 1 year of discovering the Sandwich Shop and this yummy sandwich!
